Bio
I grew up in the Danish countryside near Aarhus, where an early fascination with art, music, and sensory experiences shaped my academic journey.
I pursued studies in Art History and Musicology, developing a deep appreciation for how sound and aesthetics influence human perception and emotion.
Doctoral Research
Expanding on my interdisciplinary interests, I completed a PhD in Food Science at Aarhus University, where my research examined the intersection of auditory perception and food behavior, exploring how music and sound shape eating experiences.
Postdoctoral Research
Driven by a passion for interdisciplinary research and a desire to contribute to aging and accessibility studies, I relocated to Canada to undertake a postdoctoral fellowship in Auditory Aging at the Rotman Research Institute. My current research focuses on how sensory and cognitive changes in aging influence engagement with spoken narratives, particularly for older adults with vision loss.
By integrating qualitative and quantitative methodologies, I aim to improve accessibility in audiobook listening and enhance cognitive stimulation, emotional well-being, and social connection for aging populations.
