Signe Lund Mathiesen
I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Auditory Aging lab at the Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest.
I explore our everyday listening experiences with a focus on sensory, cognitive, and emotional changes in aging.

Where Sound Meets Meaning
This space is a hub for my research on how we listen, engage, and find meaning in sound as we age.
My current research integrates qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate how audiobook listening for older adults with vision loss can foster cognitive stimulation, emotional well-being, and social connection.
Rooted in interdisciplinary inquiry, my work bridges humanities and social science, including gerontology, sensory, perception, psychology, and media studies.
Where Research Meets Design and Communication
Beyond research, I am invested in outreach and designing visual communications that enhance the impact and knowledge translation of my findings.
I aim to make complex insights more intuitive, fostering meaningful connections between research, practice, and the broader community.
